 | DAILY EXERCISE- Is a good way to begin a new exercise regimen. Meeting Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am, this group is for those who do better with exercise both standing and sitting. Class focus is on balance and flexibility, and some endurance. Up beat and positive for those who like to start the day right. Also perfect for those who are not avid exercisers - a great place to start. As with any exercise program, we advise a participant to check with their physician before beginning any new exercise program. Back to Top |
| COMPUTER ROOM - Five on-line terminals are available to all Friendship Center members any time the building is open. It is preferred seniors take a basic computer class before trying to operate the computers if they have no prior computer experience. | BINGO - Tuesday Bingo is open to the public (attendees are not required to be members of the center). A fun way to pass the day, and possibly win a little prize money! Door cards are sold at 12:00noon and calling begins at 1:00pm. Bingo generally ends by 4:15pm. Door cards are $1.00 each and hard cards are 6 for $1.00. Pull-tab lottery tickets are for sale for $1.00 each. Bingo "specials" are also played and are $1.00 per sheet. Bingo supplies are available at the Friendship Center for a minimal charge, or bring your own. Birthdays of the month are celebrated the first Tuesday of each month. See you there! Back to Top |
 | FITNESS ROOM - Fully equipped exercise room open daily for all Friendship Center members. A variety of different machines ensure a complete workout. A physical therapist is available one a month to go over individual exercise regimens and instruct seniors on the proper way of exercising and using the equipment. | JAZZERCISE - Led by nationally acredited owner/trainer, Robert Cassidy. Jazzercise has been an important part of the Center's fitness program for over a decade. This class offers a moderate cardiovascular workout to music. Jazzercise is offered four times a week, twice during the weekday mornings, once on Wednesday evening, and once Saturday morning. Many participants have enjoyed the benefits of increased balance, flexibility and endurance that comes with regular attendance. Come experience the fun and benefits of Jazzercise! Back to Top |
 | BILLIARDS' ROOM - Provides an area of the center for socializing and congregating, while enjoying a game or two of pool. If pool is not enough, there's always shuffleboard! | | LINE DANCING - Every Wednesday beginners and seasoned line dancers get together for fun, music and exercise. A nice variety of music. Included but is not limited to country. An entertaining way to get physical activity, and no partner required! Back to Top |
 | BOWLING LEAGUE - Plays at Westland Bowl at Ford and Wayne Road. End of season banquet and prizes for various events. Need not be an accomplished bowler - just someone who wants to get out for activity, fun and socialization. Always looking for new additions to the league! Back to Top |
| | MONTHLY MEMBERS & TRAVELERS MEETINGS - are the second Friday of each month at 1:00pm in Hall C of the Friendship Center. Members are brought up to date on new programs and services, and guests from selected tour companies present the up-coming trips offered through the Friendship Center. Trips organized by Friendship Center staff are also presented. A light refreshment is served, and member's birthdays for the month are celebrated. $1.00 entrance paid at sign up (members are asked to sign up for the meeting by the Monday before). Those who sign up after the Monday cut off are welcome to attend but are not included in the food count or complementary birthday cake, if their birthday is that month. | | ANGEL WINGS - a wonderful group that makes blankets, booties, gowns, and hats for preemies in five local hospitals. The group chats and works - not only creating wonderful garments for numerous tiny patients, but enjoying conversation with the group at the same time. Many of the participants also work on hats, gloves and scares for the homeless - and gives the handmade items to the Goodfellows at Christmas time. Back to Top |
| | COUPONS FOR THE MILITARY - a group that meets on Wednesdays at 9:00am to cut out coupons. The coupons are sent to military bases overseas and honored on base, so soldiers and their families can make the most of their income while serving their country. Back to Top |
 | PINOCHLE - regular pinochle groups meet at the center on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, Thursday afternoons, and Thursday evenings. $1.00 to play.
